The operating theatre is in essence a place of contradictory interests leading to conflict in tasks management or in between individuals. The occurrence of conflicts increases stress-induced frustration and impairs working conditions. This can lead to medical errors. Conflict prevention is based on behaviours, such as: listening for others, calming down, standing back, asserting oneself, putting others to the test, avoiding confrontation, refocusing. Teamwork knowledge is required to improve operating-theatre running.
