Écho guidages et blocs pédiatriques

Echography is more and more in use to perform pediatric regional anesthesia. High frequency probe allows obtaining very well-defined imaging in children. Ultrasonography should be used for epidural and caudal anesthesia and for peripheral blocks as well, with or without catheter placement. The use of echography is effective after a learning period. Although echoguided blocks are commonly more reliable and require less anesthetic solution, improvement in safety is nor readily demonstrated.
