Performance metrics assessing key processes and outcomes of care are essential to meet this challenge.Implications for Nursing PracticeWith an increasing number of national organizations offering their version of key quality standards and metrics, it is critical for nurses to have a formal process in place to determine and implement the measures most useful in guiding change for a particular clinical setting.
