Postacie kliniczne zakażeń szpitalnych u dzieci

Epidemiological studies conducted by WHO showed the prevalence of hospital acquired infections about 9%. The number proved to be dependent upon the socio-economic status of the particular countries and changes in two opposite directions. It has been estimated that highly developed countries like Western European and the USA has only 5-6% of hospital acquired infections. This particular problem coexists with rapidly developing invasive medical procedures and menagement. We have shown a significant relation between the type and frequency of the infections and the type and number of medical procedures, done in the hospitalized patients. In the following publication the most common forms of the children's infections have been described: hospital-acquired pneumonia, different etiology of positive blood cultures, gastrointestinal tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections.
