Les représentations de l'eau et l'appropriation des notions de santé et de plaisir dans le rapport aux boissons chez les enfants 9-11Â ans

Water is not immediately thought of as a drink. It is primary thought of as the raw material of life, both for the body and in the environment. It is precisely on this primordial basis of representations that water is appropriated secondarily here as a drink. The participating children fell into positions between valuing water as an indispensable element and the unattractiveness of water due to its lack of taste. We analysed and discussed this paradoxical position, on the one hand taking into account the central role of family influence and, on the other, taking into account the logic of compromises between bodily experience, health and pleasure made by the children in a very explicit attempt at establishing identity.
