2009 TUNING Analysis: A Comparison of U.S. and International Nursing Educational Competencies

International variances in nursing practice and educational competencies create barriers to the globalization of the nursing profession and the promise of quality health-care services worldwide. This study, 2009 TUNING Analysis: A Comparison of U.S. and International Nursing Educational Competencies, sought to understand the role of nurses and nursing education from an international perspective. The goal was to evaluate the consistency of nursing educational competencies globally and to evaluate the importance of core nursing educational competencies in the United States. The study sought to replicate a European Union nursing educational competency study with U.S. respondents.
