We demonstrated that the pelvic parameters were generally within the normal range, particularly the pelvic incidence (a form parameter which determines the degree of lumbar lordosis) which is normal, such that the static disorders observed in adolescence are secondary to tendino-muscular retractions and/or motor command disorders but are not related to any particular pelvic pattern specifically observed in cerebral palsy. Consequently, early therapeutic management of limited hip extension, strength reinforcement of the gluteal muscles, and limitation of spinal retraction must be included in the care plan for these children in order to prevent early development of lumbar pain which would be a factor limiting the upright position, and rapidly walking capacity.
