ZusammenfassungDie konservative Behandlung der Charcoterkrankung des Rückfußes ist aufgrund der erheblichen Tendenz zur Fehlstellung, zur Ulzeration und Infektion meistens nicht aussichtsreich. Es sollte frühzeitig eine operative Korrektur der Fehlstellung erfolgen, wobei sich die Technik nach der Lokalisation und dem Ausmaß der Fehlstellung sowie der allgemeinen Verfassung des Patienten richtet. Wenn Patienten die postoperative Entlastung von 8 bis 12 Wochen nicht gewährleisten können, hat sich neben der internen Stabilisierung der Ringfixateur als zusätzliche Sicherung sehr bewährt.
