WISSENSCHAFTLICHER BEITRAG: Snowboard-assoziierte Ellbogenverletzungen

ZusammenfassungEllbogenverletzungen stellen mit einer Häufigkeit von 2–4% nur einen relativ geringen Anteil der Traumen beim Snowboarden dar, wobei nur wenig Daten in der Literatur zu finden sind. In einer retrospektiven Analyse von 32 Patienten mit Ellbogenverletzungen an unserer Abteilung infolge eines Sturzes beim Snowboarden in den Jahren 2000–2004 fanden wir in 71,9% Weichteilverletzungen, Frakturen in 21,9% und Luxationen in 6,3%. Gehäuft zeigten sich Frakturen am Radiuskopf (57%) und radialseitige Kapsel-Bandläsionen, wobei eine operative Versorgung nur in einem Fall nötig war. Obwohl das Outcome durchweg sehr gute Ergebnisse zeigte, ist eine genaue klinische und radiologische Abklärung bei Vorliegen einer entsprechenden Symptomatik in jedem Fall durchzuführen.

SummaryInjuries of the elbow in snowboarding are rare, representing only 2–4% of trauma, with only few data in the literature. We conducted a retrospective clinical study of 32 Patients treated at our department between 2000 and 2004 with injuries of the elbow as a result of a fall during snowboarding. There were 71.9% injuries of the soft tissue, 21.9% fractures, and 6.3% dislocations. Commonly seen were fractures of the radial head (57%) and leasons of the radial capsule-ligamentous complex. Operative treatment was only performed in one case. However the outcome in all patients was excellent, we recommend an exact clinical und radiological exploration of the elbow according to the symptoms of these injuries.
