Qualité du dossier de consultation préanesthésie au sein d'une unité d'anesthésie ayant recours à l'intérim médical

To compare the quality of preanaesthetic consultation record (PACR) performed by interim anaesthesiologists to that of full-time physician anaesthetists. Retrospective single-center study. Anaesthesia consultation files from 544 outpatients performed from January 2012 to April 2013. PACR quality was assessed according to the method of clinical audit using a score named quality HAS score (between 0 and 1 value) which consisted of 6 criteria from the record of the French Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS). We compared the HAS quality score from 272 cases performed by full-time service physicians (n = 4) and 272 folders filled by interim doctors (n = 36). Similarly, a second evaluation was performed using an extended quality score established by the medical team which consisted of 10 items which were aggregated to the 6 criteria of the HAS quality score. The values of the HAS quality score and the expanded quality score of PACR performed by interim anaesthesiologists were lower than those of the PACR scores performed by full-time physicians (0.84 + 0.13 vs. 0.95 + 0.08, P < 0.001, and 0.84 + 0.11 vs. 0.95 + 0.06, P < 0.001 respectively). In our study, the quality of maintenance of PACR conducting by interim anaesthesiologists stood at less than full-time physicians level. After analysis and identification of causes, corrective actions and regular reassessment have been proposed.
