Intoxication volontaire par Datura stramonium : une cause de mydriase mal connue

RésuméDeux cas d'intoxication à Datura stramonium sont rapportés. Dans le premier cas, l'intoxication était à visée suicidaire, le syndrome anticholinergique peu marqué et l'évolution spontanément favorable. Dans le second cas, l'intoxication était à visée festive, le syndrome anticholinergique très marqué et la prise en charge nécessitait l'intubation orotrachéale, la ventilation assistée, une réhydratation intraveineuse et un refroidissement actif afin de prévenir les défaillances d'organes.

Two case reports of Datura stramonium intoxications are presented. The first one was a self poisoning, with a moderate anticholinergic syndrome and a spontaneous improvement. The second one was a recreational use of Datura stramonium for its hallucinogenic properties. The anticholinergic syndrome was marked and the improvement required orotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, intraveinous rehydratation, and active cooling to prevent organ failure.
