Directrices de procedimientos de comprobación y validación (“chequeo”) previos a la anestesia de la SEDAR

The aims of this document are to provide recommendations applicable to all anesthesia machines, a descriptive preanesthesia checkout list that includes all the elements necessary for the anesthesia procedure, and a summarized check-list to be available in all the anesthesia machines or equivalent apparatus drawn up by each institution, which should include anesthetic equipment and drugs. Therefore, to comply with the aims and requirements of the European Board of Anaesthesiology, the European Society of Anaesthesiology and the World Health Organization, each institution should have a protocol for checking equipment and drugs. These guidelines can be applied to any anesthesia equipment, allowing each institution to develop its own checking protocols, adapted to their anesthesia machines and procedures. In accordance with the guidelines of the SEDAR, this working group will collaborate with anesthesia machine providers to develop specific checklists for each of their models. These checklists will be available at www.sedar.es.
