The relationship between serum ghrelin and body composition with bone mineral density and QUS parameters in subjects with Rett syndrome

► Rett girls present reduced bone mineral density and increased risk of fracture. ► Serum ghrelin levels were higher in the Rett patients with respect to control subjects. ► Ghrelin was not an independent predictor of BMD and QUS in Rett girls. ► Lean mass and height are the main independent predictor of bone mass.
