Técnicas de imagen en la enfermedad aórtica

El diagnóstico de las enfermedades de la aorta ha sufrido un tremendo cambio en los últimos años. La angiografía por sustracción digital era la técnica de elección hasta hace pocos años. El advenimiento de nuevas técnicas de imagen en los últimos 10 años, como son la angiografía por tomografía computarizada multicorte o la angiografía por resonancia, ha cambiado los protocolos de diagnóstico de la enfermedad aórtica. Este trabajo resume las ventajas y limitaciones de estas técnicas respecto a otras como son la angiografía por sustracción digital o la tomografía computarizada espiral. Asimismo, se resumen las indicaciones de cada una de ellas.

The diagnosis of the diseases of the aorta has suffered a tremendous change in the last years. Digital subtraction angiography was the gold-standard in technology until a few years ago. The advent of new technologies of imaging in the last 10 years like multidetector CT angiography or magnetic resonance angiography has changed the protocols of diagnosis of the aortic pathology. This work summarizes the advantages and limitations of these technologies with regard to others like DSA and spiral CT angiography. Likewise the indications are summarized of each one of them.
