Hipertensión nocturna

A large number of studies has recently suggested that lower nocturnal BP reduction is associated with an increased cardiovascular outcome and enhanced nocturnal blood pressure as a better predictor of subclinical damage and cardiovascular events, independently of diurnal ambulatory blood pressure and the dipping or non-dipping pattern. The present review summarizes the evidence available on the significance and prognostic value of nocturnal blood pressure and the possible implications on diagnostic diagnosis and treatment.
