The discovery of new bactericidal drugs has an impact on treatment durations, especially in HIV patients: there is a need for non toxic molecules which do not interact with antiretroviral drugs (protease inhibitors and non-nucleosidic inhibitors) and permitting the optimisation of treatment durations.
