Gemifloxacin for the management of community-acquired respiratory tract infections

Gemifloxacin given once daily for as little as 5 days therapy has proven equivalent to, or superior to, comparator agents, it has an acceptable safely profile, and may be a cost-effective agent for lower respiratory tract infections.
