In adults, intussusception is a rare entity. It is caused in more than 85% of cases by an organic lesion, whereas in the infant and child, developmental disorders or anomalous intestinal functions are the main causes. Neoplasia is a potential cause, three-quarters of cases involving the small bowel and one-quarter the large bowel. Lipoma, particularly submucosal lipoma, a rare finding in the gut, is also an unusual cause of intussusception. We report a case of ileocecal intussusception secondary to a well-limited fatty tumor, which developed in the intestinal wall. Pathology reported lipoma. We discuss the radiological aspects of intussusceptions caused by lipomas in adults and examine correlations with pathology findings.
