Cause rare de torticolis chez l'enfant : la fibrodysplasie ossifiante progressive

Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is a rare condition. This case report describes a two and half years old boy who had spine stiffness, cervical swelling and a bilateral hallux valgus. Plain radiographs and computed tomography showed tissue ossifications. Plain radiographs of the toes visualized characteristic bone abnormalities. The coupling of the bone abnormalities and ossifications are specific and surgical biopsy should be avoided as it is known to be an aggravating factor in this disease.
