Accurate identification of intranasal bony landmarks, including those that are intimately related to key intraorbital structures, is essential in avoiding complications during endoscopic orbital surgery. Image-guidance systems provide real-time intraoperative localization by calculating the position of an instrument tip in relation to the patient and displaying its exact location on a multiplanar computed tomography scan. Although not essential, this technology can aid in the identification of key landmarks and offers the potential for fewer complications and improved surgical outcomes.
