Work pattern of Canadian pathologists

This short survey has shown that Canadian Pathologists are working a nearly 50-hour work week. Direct patient care activity is priority one which is in keeping as a medical professional. Due to this, there is a high chance that other competing functions such as administration, medical oversight and professional quality assurance (QA) activities may be compromised. The impact on patient safety in the long term is discussed.
