Carcinoma epidermoide basaloide de amígdala en adulto medio

Basaloid squamous cell carcinoma is a rare, aggressive variant of squamous cell carcinoma. It usually occurs in the upper aerodigestive tract and head and neck, predominantly in 60 to 80 year old males, however, the tonsil is an extremely unusual location with less than fifteen reported cases. We present a further case of a rapidly growing basaloid squamous cell carcinoma of the left tonsil in a man in his fifties.
