Did we aim high enough? Will legislation lead to better results for disabled children?

In 2007, the ‘Aiming High’ programme set out to improve outcomes for children with disabilities in the UK. There continues to be a plethora of legislation, acts, guidance and changes in practice but is there any evidence of real change for children with a disability? This article aims to discuss whether the current Children and Families Bill will be the legislation that finally does make a significant difference and facilitate improved interagency working, quicker care plans and simplified and safe transition.
