Effects of ADHD therapeutic agents, methylphenidate and atomoxetine, on hippocampal neurogenesis in the adolescent mouse dentate gyrus

► We investigated effects of methylphenidate (MPH) and atomoxetine on neurogenesis. ► 10 mg/kg MPHe increased cell proliferation and neuronal differentiation in the subgranular zone. ► 10 mg/kg methylphenidate increased BDNF level in the dentate gyrus.
