Are diurnal changes in foot sole sensation dependent on gait activity?

► Diurnal changes of tactile foot sole sensation were investigated. ► Correlations between individual changes of sensitivity and step activity were analyzed. ► Decreased thresholds were found in usually higher loaded plantar regions during the day. ► Individuals with higher step activity showed slightly decreased thresholds. ► Changes in plantar sensation appear to be fairly dependent on gait activity.
