▶ Decreased synaptosomal GABA concentration contributes to epileptogenesis in TRM hippocampus. ▶ Elevations of GAT-1 and GAT-3 at mRNA and protein levels promote the generation of epileptic seizure in TRM hippocampus. ▶ Up-regulation of GABAR α1 subunit may act as a compensatory mechanism to reduce the occurrence or severity of epilepsy in TRM hippocampus.
