A multiplex real-time PCR method using hybridization probes for the detection and the quantification of Fusarium proliferatum, F. subglutinans, F. temperatum, and F. verticillioides

► We used a real-time PCR method for specific detection of four Fusarium species. ► Real-time PCR was developed in monoplex and quadruplex conditions. ► The method allows the distinction between F. temperatum and F. subglutinans. ► The method was validated on Fusarium-infected maize samples.
