Co-metabolic degradation of chlorobenzene by the fluorobenzene degrading wild strain Labrys portucalensis

► Degradation of chlorobenzene by a fluorobenzene degrading strain (F11) was evaluated. ► Strain F11 was not able to degrade CB without induction by FB. ► CB metabolism was only achieved when FB was also supplied to F11 cultures. ► This is the first time that co-metabolic biodegradation of CB and FB is reported.
