Sorption of Cu(II) and Cd(II) by extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) from Aspergillus fumigatus

► Extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) produced by A. fumigatus as biosorbents. ► High pH is favourable for the sorption of Cu(II) and Cd(II). ► Both the Freundlich and Langmuir models described the sorption adequately. ► Sorption of Cu(II) and Cd(II) involves carboxyl, amide and hydroxyl groups.
