Analyzing the community composition of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi colonizing the roots of representative shrubland species in a Mediterranean ecosystem

► We analyze arbuscular mycorrhizal diversity in typical Mediterranean plant species. ► Ten arbuscular mycorrhizal phylotypes were identified. ► High dominance by Glomus intraradices was detected. ► AM communities can vary among different plant species within the same ecosystem.
