Evaluation of a pneumatic drop-on-demand generator for application of agrochemical solutions

► A simple and robust pneumatic droplet generator was established. ► The impact of pressure, orifice size and liquid surface tension was evaluated. ► Droplets in the range of 533-1819 μm could be produced. ► Large impulse width or orifice diameter increased droplet diameter. ► High surface tension of liquid increased droplet diameter at short impulse width.
