Resiliences to water deficit in a phenotyping platform and in the field: How related are they in maize?

► Resilience to soil water deficit was assessed in a network of 14 field experiments. ► Seed number and yield were related to soil water potential across experiments. ► The slope of responses varied two-fold in a mini panel of 19 maize hybrids. ► The resilience of leaf growth to drought was estimated in a phenotyping platform. ► Resilience in fields and platform correlated well, allowing estimation at early stages.
