An evaluation of the combined usage of separated liquid pig manure and inorganic fertiliser in nutrient programmes for winter wheat production

▶ Inorganic N plus LPM increased yield levels by 1.1 t/ha compared to inorganic N alone. ▶ Grain protein benefits of up to 1% unit were achieved with LPM application. ▶ LPM usage in combination with lower inorganic N rates provided greatest benefits. ▶ Average organic nitrogen uptake efficiency (NUE) was moderate (33%). ▶ Inorganic NUE was significantly higher (67%) than the organic N source.
