An Individual Based Model of Arctic cod (Boreogadus saida) early life in Arctic polynyas: II. Length-dependent and growth-dependent mortality

► We modeled length-dependent and growth-dependent mortality in larval Arctic cod. ► Combining length- and growth-dependent mortalities improved survival estimates. ► As size increased, growth-dependent superseded length-dependent mortality. ► Sub-sampling the model output to mirror in situ sampling improved the model fit. ► The under-sampling of the smallest larvae was identified as a major bias.
