Genetic considerations on the introduction of farmed fish in marine protected areas: The case of study of white seabream restocking in the Gulf of Castellammare (Southern Tyrrhenian Sea)

► Loss of alleles in farmed population could be interpreted as incipient inbreeding. ► Identification of two metapopulations defined by oceanographic connectivity pattern. ► Low similarity between Castellammare and AcquaAzzurra, not being advisable this restocking. ► It is recommended to use broods from the same metapopulation for restocking purposes.
