Overlapping distributions of cryptic Scoloplos cf. armiger species in the western Wadden Sea

► Scoloplos cf. armiger species complex in western Wadden Sea consists of four types. ► One of the molecular types detected is new. ► The distribution of the types overlaps to a great extent, both horizontally and vertically. ► Population dynamic studies should consider possible sympatry of cryptic species.
