A lower estimate for ‖en‖

We show that the distance between en and its nearest integer is estimated below by e−cnlogn with c=15.727 for all sufficiently large integer n, which improves the earlier results due to Mahler, Mignotte and Wielonsky. Some basic properties on that distance are also discussed.
