A note on alienation for functional inequalities

In the spirit of some results due to Jean Dhombres and to Roman Ger we discuss problems when two given functional inequalities are alien to each other, i.e. when each solution of the inequality formed by adding the two given inequalities side-by-side satisfies each inequality separately.
