Extremal problems related to maximal dyadic-like operators

We obtain sharp estimates for the localized distribution function of the dyadic maximal function Mdϕ, when ϕ belongs to Lp,∞. Using this we obtain sharp estimates for the quasi-norm of Mdϕ in Lp,∞ given the localized L1-norm and certain weak Lp-conditions.
