Large solutions of mixed sublinear/superlinear elliptic equations

We consider the equation Δu=p(x)uα+q(x)uβ on RN (N⩾3) where p, q are nonnegative continuous functions and 0<α⩽β. We establish conditions sufficient to ensure the existence and nonexistence of nonnegative entire large solutions of the equation.
