GPS-derived velocity field of the Iznik-Mekece segment of the North Anatolian Fault Zone

► We constructed a 10-points micro-geodetic network on the Iznik-Mekece segment of NAF in 1990. ► We have been observing the network annually by geodetic techniques over 20 years. ► The results of GPS observations agree well with the lower seismicity in this segment. ► We found that strain does not build up along the fault near Iznik as much as it does along other segments of NAF.
