Conjugacy and phases for second order linear difference equation

We establish new conjugacy criteria for the second order linear difference equation Δ(rkΔxk)+qkxk+1=0,k∈Z. To this goal, we introduce the concept of a phase of any basis for Eq. (1) and we study properties of these phases.
