Sedimentological and provenance response to Cambrian closure of the Clymene ocean: The upper Alto Paraguai Group, Paraguay belt, Brazil

► Redescription of the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian upper Alto Paraguai Group exposed in the southern Amazon Craton. ► Facies analysis indicates tidal and storm influenced deposits which are recovered for a lake to deltaic succession. ► These deposits are a record of a foreland basin.
