Mapping the rise and demise of Urgonian platforms (Late Hauterivian - Early Aptian) in southeastern France and the Swiss Jura

► Urgonian platforms range in age from the Late Hauterivian to the Early Aptian. ► Sequence stratigraphy was calibrated on ammonite and orbitolinid biostratigraphy. ► Twelve sequences are correlated on N, S, and W margins of the Vocontian through. ► Eleven facies maps are given, one for each HST of these third order sequences. ► During the Early Aptian transgression, hemipelagic facies replace Urgonian facies.
