Diverse assemblages of Mid Devonian megaspores from Libya

► Eifelian to Givetian palynological samples from Libya have been studied. ► The richest megaspore assemblage of the Gondwana has been discovered. ► Seventeen taxa are determined, including two new species and four new varieties. ► Two species have a diameter size above the mm, and are the largest for this period. ► A pre-Pangea would explain the palaeogeographic distribution of the megaspores.
