- Density and speeds of sound of d(â)-ribose and d(+)-xylose in aqueous trilithium citrate solutions.
- Apparent molar properties suggest ion-ion interactions.
- Transfer parameter suggest dominance of ion-hydrophilic and hydrophilic-hydrophilic interactions.
- Saccharides shows structure making ability in all aqueous TLC solutions.
- Pair-wise interactions are indicated by values of pair interaction coefficients.
Densities (Ï) and speeds of sound (c) measurements of d(â)-ribose and d(+)-xylose in (0.2, 0.4, 0.6) mol·kgâ1 aqueous solutions of trilithium citrate (TLC) have been carried out at different temperatures. The experimental results were used to calculate apparent molar and partial molar quantities, partial molar volumes and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer. The pair and triplet interaction coefficients are computed from transfer parameters. The partial molar expansibilities have also been calculated. The results have been interpreted in terms of prevailing interactions and structure making and breaking tendency of the solutes in aqueous solution of TLC.
