Salience, risky choices and gender

► We examine gender differences in salience. ► Experimental data show that men and women respond differently to salience. ► Cognitive and non-cognitive skills do not explain gender differences in salience. ► Men are more likely to switch from certain to risky choice once upside of winning is made salient.
