Market opportunities and owner identity: Are family firms different?
چکیده انگلیسی
► We show that ownership does affect the entrepreneurial ability of the firm to seize market opportunities. ► The identity of the owner affects firm performance according to the difference between the actual and the optimal firm size. ► This finding is robust to decisions about productive structure and controls for scale, scope and learning economies. ► The productivity gap between family and non family firms declines with capital intensity.
