Mixed-valence μ3-oxo-centered triruthenium cluster [Ru3(II,III,III)(μ3-O)(μ-CH3CO2)6(H2O)3]·2H2O: Synthesis, structural characterization, valence-state delocalization and catalytic behavior

The trinuclear ruthenium-oxo cluster [Ru3(II,III,III)O(CH3CO2)6(H2O)3]·2H2O was prepared and its crystal structure was determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The complex exhibits the trapped-valence state delocalization between ruthenium centers at room temperature. The catalytic activity of the complex in hydration of nitriles and isomerization of allylic alcohols reactions is also reported.89
