Synthesis, reactivities and anti-cancer properties of ruthenium(II) complexes with a thiaether macrocyclic ligand

The anti-cancer drugs, [RuX2([9]aneS3)(S-dmso)] (X = Cl, Br), are not cytotoxic but they have strong anti-invasive activities for highly invasive MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. This indicates their potential to be used as anti-metastatic drugs.
